Directing

As a Freelance Director, Toby has produced work with:

  • Park Theatre

  • Southwark Playhouse

  • Ovalhouse

  • Lyric Hammersmith.  

Toby has just finished directing Wasted by Kae Tempest at the Jack Studio Brockley.  It received unanimous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews and was Nominated for an Offie Award. The 2023 Remount at Catford Broadway received three Offie Nominations, including Best Director and Best Production.

 

He directed Warheads at the Park Theatre in August 2019 which was nominated for an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement and received unanimous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Critical Acclaim.

I Love You, Now What? by Sophie Craig was nominated Edinburgh Pick of the Fringe, and enjoyed sell out audiences along with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews from The Daily Telegraph and Reviews Hub.

Sketty Theatre

Toby is co-founder of sketty.org.uk, an interdisciplinary production company, fusing text, puppetry and movement. Their work toured nationally to the Bristol Old Vic Studio, Ustinov Studio and the New Wimbledon to name a few, producing 4 critically-acclaimed new plays. Their work was developed with the support of Soho Theatre, Ovalhouse and the NT Studio and was frequently funded by Arts Council England and The Peggy Ramsay Foundation.
