Thursday 22 August, 2-5pm at Brixton House Practical Masterclass with casting director Aisha Bywaters (Queenie, The Kitchen, The Last Tree). We will send you sides to prepare ahead of the session. Each actor will then get an opportunity to present them as an informal mock TV & Film audition, with notes and redirection from Aisha. There will also be a Q&A component where Aisha will be imparting her extensive knowledge of the Film, TV and Commercial casting landscape, sharing her best tips for acing self-tapes and auditions. _______________ Aisha Bywaters started working in casting in 2007. Aisha worked for Shaheen Baig for 6 years, she assisted Shaheen on numerous projects including films the IMPOSSIBLE, STARRED UP, BLACK MIRROR and PEAKY BLINDERS. In 2015 she set up her own company, her credits as a casting director include Queenie, The Kitchen, We Are Lady Parts, Count Abdulla, and Riches for TV. Her film credits include DIRTY GOD and THE LAST TREE (which both premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2019). In 2022 & 2024 Aisha won the BAFTA TV Craft Award for scripted casting for TV Comedy We Are Lady Parts and TV Drama Three Little Birds. For her work on THE LAST TREE she was nominated for A British Independent Film Award for Best Casting alongside Shaheen Baig.
