Service Description

Using Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, Director and Acting Coach Toby Clarke, and writer / director / facilitator Roy Alexander Weise will be taking you through textual analysis techniques and practical acting exercises that will help you take a Classical play from page to stage. Sat 2 Dec, 2pm-5pm Southwark Playhouse Borough (the Tiny) £5 Currently only open to ALT. alumni and students. Limited spaces available. Roy is a director, writer, facilitator, dramaturg, creative business consultant and cultural leader with a passion for empowerment and enlightenment through storytelling across a range of mediums including theatre, film, radio, poetry and television. He was most recently Joint Artistic Director & CEO of Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre where he programmed productions such as Bloody Elle, Glee & Me, Rockets & Blue Lights, Electric Rosary, Let The Right One In, My White Best Friend North and more; championing new artists and cracking open the classic canon for new audiences. Credits as director include: Untitled F*ck M*ss S**gon Play (Young Vic/Manchester International Festival 2023); Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, The Mountaintop (Royal Exchange); Much Ado About Nothing (RSC); Master Harold and the Boys, Nine Night (National Theatre). Upcoming work includes: The Hot Wing King by Katori Hall in Summer 2024 (National Theatre)
